Rep. Ben Cannon


District 46, Oregon House of Representatives

Ben was elected to the Oregon House in November 2006 and sworn in as its youngest member in January 2007. As Chair of the Bus Project's Education Policy Council, Ben helped develop and lobby for a package of legislation to address the state's school funding crisis. He also served for more than two years on a research committee of the City Club of Portland studying early childhood education.

Ben attended West Linn High School and Washington University, after which he received a Rhodes Scholarship to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) and Comparative and International Education at Oxford University in England. He is currently a Humanities teacher and works with 6th-8th graders at the Arbor School of Arts and Sciences in Tualatin.
