Rep. Jules Bailey
District 42, Oregon House of Representatives
Jules grew up in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Southeast Portland. He graduated from Lincoln High School and Lewis and Clark College, where he majored in Environmental Studies and International Affairs. For his honors thesis he traveled across New Zealand to research ocean conservation and protection for application to Oregon. He went on to work for the U.S. Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). After working for Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, Jules studied at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, where received his Master of Public Affairs and Urban and Regional Planning with a certification in Environmental Policy.
Jules now works as a Senior Policy Analyst at ECONorthwest, one of Oregon's oldest and most respected economics consulting firms. He has worked in city, state, and federal government; and lived, worked, or conducted research in six countries. Jules currently serves on the board of the Asian Education Foundation and the Oregon League of Minority Voters.
