Rep. Margaret Doherty

District 35, Oregon House of Representatives

Margaret Doherty worked as a high school teacher for ten years, after which she went to work for the Oregon Education Association. For 22 years she worked to make education workers’ jobs and lives a little better by improving contracts and working conditions. She believes, much like the late Paul Wellstone did, that politics is about making people's lives better. This is one of the most important reasons that Margaret ultimately decided to seek the appointment to House District 35. She currently serves on the Transportation and Human Services committee during the interim.
