Oregon House Speaker Dave Hunt is serving his fourth term in the Oregon House of Representatives. A Northwest native, Speaker Hunt attended Sheldon High School in Eugene and Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in Political Science and American Government. He has served as the Executive Executive Director of the Columbia River Channel Coalition and the Association of Pacific Ports since 2001. First elected to the House in 2002, Speaker Hunt was elected by his Democratic colleagues as Majority Leader in 2006. In 2009, he was elected Speaker of the House. Prior to serving in the Legislature, Speaker Hunt served as a Congressional staffer for a decade, working as district director for Congresswoman Darlene Hooley from Oregon and Congressman Brian Baird from Southwest Washington.
